Straddling two languages, two cultures

Josée’s love affair with the English language started in 1980 when she moved to Toronto. Born and raised in a typical French community in Quebec, she discovered that English was not only a fascinating language, but also the gateway to a rich culture. It was the end of the two solitudes!

Thirty years later, bilingualism is a way of life for Josée. In Toronto, she is surrounded by English, yet she never compromises her French roots. At home, French is “la langue de choix”. Her once unilingual Torontonian husband is now fully bilingual and her children, who attend French schools, consider themselves Francophones. Not to mention that business and pleasure brings Josée back to “La Belle Province” on a regular basis.

As a linguist, literature expert, FSL teacher and certified translator, Josée has the ability to tackle the subtleties and intrinsic differences between English and French.
